Geography
Botkyrka municipality, with a total area of 197 km2, is situated between Stockholm and Södertälje in Sweden. The municipality has seven districts – Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Norsborg, Tumba, Tullinge and Grödinge.
Trade and industri
In the municipality there are 4,000 companies (including the public sector) and 20,000 employment positions. Approximately 95 percent are small or medium-sized companies.
Of about 33,400 Botkyrka inhabitants who have gainful employment, 10,500 also live in Botkyrka. The open unemployment rate is 5,3%. Botkyrka kommun is the largest employer with approximately 5,700 employees.

Botkyrka is one of Sweden’s most international municipalities with more than 100 different nationalities and approximately 74 different languages. Botkyrka has three twin towns: Alytus in Lithuania, Bröndby in Denmark and Stange in Norway.
Since 1995, Botkyrka has developed partnerships with organisations in 60 areas within 20 european countries.
One stop shops
The one stop shops were established in Botkyrka in 1987 and are located in Alby, Fittja, Hallunda, Tullinge and Tumba. They process approximately 100,000 cases per year.
